Dr. Garza is a Rio Grande Valley native who has called Fort Worth home since his John Peter Smith days. During high school, he was quite active in sports. He has always been interested in sports and assisting others. When he wasn't practicing athletics, he was constantly working part-time in different medical clinics. This background inspired him to pursue a profession in sports medicine and interventional pain management in order to assist others in need. His training prepared him for a wide range of sports coverage. From 2010 through 2014, he served as the TCU football team's physician. He was also a ringside physician at the 2009 UFC 103 Championship event in Dallas, Texas, and was one of the leading boxing and UFC physicians in Texas for many years. The cornerstone of Dr. Garza's practice is to provide compassionate, customized treatment to each patient while also recognizing their individual circumstances. Dr. Garza's practice focuses on multimodal pain management and sports medicine. He and his staff devise a thorough treatment plan for each patient, which may include ultrasound-guided therapies, interventional procedures, and conservative treatments such as physical therapy and non-surgical options.

The doctor’s practice specializes in the multimodality treatment of pain and sports medicine. A native of the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas, Dr. Garza calls Fort Worth home. He was heavily involved in athletics during high school, and has always had an interest in sports and helping people. At an early age, he was always working part-time in various medical clinics when he was not playing sports. This background drove him towards a career in sports medicine and interventional pain to try to help those who are in need.
Graduating with his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Texas A&M University, he went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Subsequently, he completed his residency in family medicine, and two consecutive fellowships in sports medicine and pain medicine at John Peter Smith Hospital.
An expert in his field, the doctor is board-certified in sports medicine, pain medicine, and family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.
Dr. Garza’s training led to a diverse background of sports coverage. He was a TCU football team physician from 2010 to 2014. Additionally, he was one of the lead boxing and UFC physicians in Texas for many years and had the privilege of being a ringside physician for the 2009 UFC 103 Championship event in Dallas, Texas.
Sports medicine is the medical specialty concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries due to athletic activity.
