Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Said Ali Ibrahimi, who serves patients in Danville, California.

An insightful and patient-oriented child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist, Dr. Ibrahimi is the Medical Director of Vortex Psychiatry TMS Therapy & Ketamine Infusion Center in Danville, California.

Committed to uncovering the root causes of symptoms, he ensures treatments are optimized for maximum effectiveness. After graduating from Ross University School of Medicine in 2005, Dr. Ibrahimi pursued his internal medicine internship and neurology residency at Albany Medical Center from 2006 to 2008. Continuing his education, he completed a second residency in psychiatry at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center from 2010 to 2011, followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Westchester Medical Center from 2011 to 2013. 

Dr. Ibrahimi engaged in moonlighting positions during his residency and fellowship training to broaden his experience. He worked as a Mental Health Physician for the ER and in-patient unit at Orange Regional Medical Center (12/2012 to 8/2013) and Mt. Vernon Hospital (11/2011 to 8/2013). Simultaneously, during this time, he worked at Westchester Medical Center, covering the Psychiatric Emergency Referral Center.

His prior roles include Chief Medical Director at Blackhawk TMS Interventions and Clinical Specialties (01/2020-01/2021) and Brains Wellness (10/2019-01/2020), where he provided TMS and Ketamine services. He also worked at Vitality Physicians Group Practice (09/2011-02/2017), specializing in Suboxone Clinic services; Community Psychiatry, Inc. (10/2014-10/2016), providing outpatient services for adults, children, and adolescents; Karima Behavioral Health Center, PLLC (8/2013-09/2014); and Providence Mental Health Clinic (8/2013-09/2014), offering private practice services for adults, children, and adolescents. He worked in the Geriatric Psychiatric Unit at Oro Valley Hospital in Tucson, Arizona (8/2013-09/2014).

Board-certified in Psychiatry, Dr. Ibrahimi is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation that promotes high-quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.

On a professional level, Dr. Ibrahimi is a member of the American Academy of Psychoanalysis and Dynamic Psychiatry, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology, the American Neuropsychiatric Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the American Medical Association, and the Clinical TMS Society. In addition, he holds certifications in Cloud TMS Tech (since 2020), ECFMG, and Suboxone (XI2789141).

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders, including various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.

Throughout his extensive career, Dr. Ibrahimi has contributed to various publications and presentations, including “Somatoform and Factitious Disorders” at North General Hospital: NY, Department of Psychiatry (Report presentation), “Self-Injurious Behaviors among Adolescents and Children Rising?” at the Department of Adolescent/Child Psychiatry (Report presentation), and “Bullying and the Impact it has on our children” at the Department of Child/Adolescent Psychiatry (Ground Rounds).
