Get to know Neurologist Dr. Christopher Severson, who serves patients in Boston, Massachusetts.

A top neurologist, Dr. Severson is affiliated with Brigham and Women’s Hospital. His clinical interests include inflammatory neurological diseases, multiple sclerosis, neurodegenerative disease, and neuroimmunology.

Academically, Dr. Severson earned his medical degree from the Yale University School of Medicine. He then went on to complete his internship at Yale-New Haven Hospital and his residency in neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 2007. Finally, he completed a clinical fellowship in neuroimmunology and multiple sclerosis at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Center for Neurologic Diseases.

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in neurology through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high-quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.

A proud member of the American Academy of Neurology, Dr. Severson is an Instructor in Neurology at Harvard Medical School, and can be found on staff at the VA Boston Healthcare System – Jamaica Plain.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.

As a testament of his dedication to his patients, Dr. Severson has been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award (2018), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2018), and On-Time Doctor Award (2018).
