  • Can you brush your teeth after bone graft?

Hi there, Usually, we don't recommend brushing the area where the bone graft was placed for at least 24 hours, so that you don't disturb the graft. After 24 hours, you can apply (Cholorohexidine Gluconate) mouth wash (Prescription) on a Q tip and apply it on the area to keep it clean twice/day. Then you could start to clean the adjacent teeth with a soft brush to ensure there is no plaque accumulation since that can delay the healing. Hope that helps. Dr. Saad READ MORE

  • Should a partial denture hurt?

A new partial denture would normally hurt since the soft tissues and the tongue aren't adapted on it yet. You could even get some sores in the soft tissues after using it from a tight area or if the bite needs some adjustments. I would recommend to contact your dentist regarding this. Also, if the partial is made of resin, always keep it soaked in water. Hope that helps. Dr. Saad READ MORE

  • How long after teeth removal can I get dentures?

After the teeth have been removed, it is better to wait at least 4 weeks to make sure the bone has remodeled completely. This is before the initial mold is taken. If you try to rush it, you might get a gap between the gums ands the dentures, which will need to be relined. Hope that helps. Dr. Saad READ MORE

  • Do gums heal faster with dentures in or out?

It is always good to keep the dentures out for some time during the day to let the gums and tissues breathe. So, answering your question, it is better to keep them out and rinse with warm salt water, too, to increase the circulation and the healing process. Hope that helps. Dr. Saad READ MORE

  • How do I keep my dentures from falling out?

It really depends how old are they. If they are extremely old with good teeth, maybe a reline or even a rebase of the pink base can help. If not, maybe a new denture.
