There are some who get certified in lifestyle medicine and provide individual care focusing on emphasizing lifestyle choices that prevent illness. How do I prevent getting a sleep disorder as a pilot?
Yes it’s challenging with shift work! In general avoiding stimulants including caffeine through out the day, getting regular exercise, developing a regular bedtime routine, avoiding heavy meals during the hours before bed, eliminating noise and light distractions and other changes in sleep hygiene will help. Meditation and relaxation before sleep can help with good quality sleep. Melatonin may be helpful sometimes for circadian rhythm disturbances.
