Dr. Sylora is a board-certified urologist with expertise in minimally invasive techniques such as robotic and laparoscopic surgery. He is the President of the Associated Urological Specialists, seeing patients at the office in Evergreen Park, Illinois. 

He has been in practice since 1995 when he joined his father, Dr. Herme Sylora. Some of the procedures that he performs include: robotic/laparoscopic – single port and multi-port (da Vinci), stone therapy, BPH therapy, ED therapy, high-intensity focused ultrasound for prostate cancer, low-intensity shockwave therapy for ED, electromagnetic pelvic floor therapy for incontinence, and pelvic floor rejuvenation – TempSure.

A firm believer in harnessing technology to enhance his patients’ experiences, Dr. Sylora began offering BTL Emsella, an electromagnetic pelvic floor therapy for noninvasive treatment of urinary incontinence, in 2019. He also uses high-intensity focused ultrasound to treat certain prostate cancers, and is exploring the use of regenerative medicine to treat urologic disease, such as low intensity shockwave therapy to improve erectile function.

Maintaining a clinical appointment at Loyola University Chicago, he is involved in clinical research as a Principal Investigator for urologic studies. He is also affiliated with Advocate Christ Outpatient Center, Palos Community Hospital, MetroSouth Medical Center, and Little Company of Mary.

A South Side Chicago native, Dr. Sylora earned his medical degree from the Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University Chicago in 1989. He then went on to perform his internship and residency in urology at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident.

Licensed to practice medicine in Illinois, he is board-certified in urology by the American Board of Urology (ABU). The mission of the ABU is to act for the benefit of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists, working with certified urologists to achieve lifelong learning to insure the delivery of high quality, safe, and ethical urologic care.

In both research and patient care, Dr. Sylora has a special interest in mastering the latest advances in urology. He was the first in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago to perform laparoscopic urologic surgery, robotic urologic surgery, and single-port robotic urologic surgery. 

In good standing with a number of professional organizations, he is a member of the American Medical Association, the Illinois State Medical Society, the American Urological Association, the Endourological Society, the Chicago Urological Society, the Chicago Medical Society, the American Association of Clinical Urologists, the American Lithotripsy Society, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, and the Large Urology Group Practice Association.
