My wife has abdominal pain and vomiting?
Abdominal pain with nausea and vomiting can be caused by gastroenteritis however it’s hard to know without a full evaluation. More serious causes need to be excluded like peptic ulcer disease with gastric outlet obstruction, intestinal obstruction(which can be caused by many conditions), and intussusception. The duration of 5 days indicates a trip to the emergency room as she will likely need evaluation with imaging like abdominal x-ray and ct-scan of the abdomen and pelvic. READ MORE

Normal vaginal delivery continues to be the best way with quick recovery however there are cases when it’s not. What is the fastest way to cure a stomach ulcer?
Stomach ulcers are not uncommon, however, they need to be treated properly. Although it’s serious, it’s treatable. Most serious complications are severe bleeding and perforation. A biopsy and test for H. pylori infection should be done on the initial endoscopy. If H. pylori infection is confirmed, it should be treated with antibiotics and proton pump inhibitors PPI, a follow-up endoscopy should be done to ensure resolution of the ulcer. In addition to her busy inpatient clinical service, she works frequently with the residents and medical students as an Assistant Professor within the Department of Medicine, helping to educate and guide them during their inpatient medicine, medical consult and admission rotations.
Graduating with her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Tishreen University in Syria in 1997, Dr. Bdiiwi relocated to the United States to further her training. Once there, she completed her residency in internal medicine at NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island in 2007.
Subsequent to her education, the doctor attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists.
