Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island in New York City, New York in 2003.

Recognized for showing dedication, leadership, and excellence in his field, he is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, which is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. He is also a member of the American College of Physicians and the Harris County Medical Association.
