Sowjanya Reganti, MD, joined Cancer Care Specialists in August of 2008. She received her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Bangalore, Sri Siddhartha Medical College in Tumkur India in 2000. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. She completed her fellowship in hematology and oncology at Loyola University and the Cardinal Benardin Cancer Center. Dr. Reganti is board certified in internal medicine, hematology, and oncology. While a medical student and completing rotations in the United States, Dr Reganti received many honors; including being named Fellow of the Year Award for her excellence in clinical instruction and education, the Chairman?s Award, the Ambulatory Care Award, and Spirit Award. Dr. Reganti is very active member in the community, she was elected as President of Washoe County Medical Society 2016 ( 110th President). She is active member of executive committees of the hospitals in local area. She also enjoys teaching and is Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Nevada Medical school. Dr. Reganti states that, ?My cancer patients are very special to me. I believe in treating the whole person, not just the disease. In my life, the best teachers have been my patients.? She works to offer cutting edge treatments by making clinical trials available in her community so that the patients do not have to spend time away from home and family. Dr. Reganti is married and has two children. She enjoys spending time with her family, and it is that important sense of family connection that she extends to her patients. An avid reader, Dr. Reganti is currently expanding her interests to include outdoor activities like hiking and skiing since moving to the West Coast.
