Dr. James M. Landeen MD's Expert Contributions
  • What is a liquid face lift?

If this is using fillers, then I can answer. An alternative to surgery is using fillers. This may be an option for surgery when the patient does not want surgery or the problem is more minimal. Using fillers is only as good as the person doing the injections. Also, the person may not be a candidate for surgery because of a medical situation. But, if the person needs surgery, injections will not meet the need. READ MORE

  • Does plastic surgery of the hands make you look younger?

Done correctly, yes. You can remove excess skin and place fat grafts, if needed. READ MORE

  • How do you sleep after ear lobe surgery?

Your head has to be elevated so that requires 2-3 pillows arranged comfortably. The dressing should be thick and heavy so that it protects the ears from too much pressure when you partially lay on them. Do not compromise yourself by taking sleep medications. READ MORE

  • How many laser sessions does it take to remove stretch marks?

It depends on the extent of the marks. It can be done in one session. However, even though done in one session, it may need to be touched up in another session. Not unusual to have more than one session. READ MORE

  • How do you know if a breast implant is leaking?

If it is saline, it will go flat and be obvious. If it is gel, it may be seen on X-ray, but you may have trouble appreciating this. The implants should move in the pocket regardless if saline or gel. There could be a recognizable size difference. The radiologist can tell. READ MORE

Yes, with some caution. Most likely you will have internal and external dressings and you should not disturb them. Your doctor will give you instructions post surgery. • Can you get fat removed from your cheeks?

It can be. However, you still have some responsibility to keep your weight stable. You can gain fat back in suctioned areas if you gain weight period.
