Get to know Dentist Dr. Michael V. Cook, who serves patients in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Cook’s goal as a dentist is simple — he wants to change people’s lives by giving them smiles that raise their self-esteem while ensuring they have healthy mouths.
At Creative Smiles, he deeply enjoys getting to know new patients as well as catching up with returning ones. He also likes being a part of a fun-loving community and working with each patient to achieve their goals.
As the son of an orthodontist, Dr. Cook knew from an early age that he wanted to have a career that would allow him to make positive changes in people’s lives, and dentistry seemed like the best way to do this. He also liked that dentistry allowed him to form one-on-one relationships with his patients and provide local families with a centralized dental home.
A Columbus native, he attended The Ohio State University for both his undergraduate and dental degrees.
Over the years, Dr. Cook has dedicated much of his free time to completing continuing education courses in order to refine and grow his skillset. He often attends training and seminars through his memberships in the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, the Spectrum Dental Society, the Capital City Dental Study Club, and Spear Education.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries, create beautiful smiles, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
When he isn’t spending time with his family or relaxing with his cat and dog, Dr. Cook likes to go hiking, snowboarding, rollerblading and wakeboarding. He also frequently attends concerts and music festivals, and on most weekends, one will find him cheering on his beloved Buckeyes and Buffalo Bills.
