About

David Medansky, a non-practicing lawyer, is an international best-selling author, and known as "The Overweight Person's Best Greind" and the "Anti-Diet Advocate." At age 61, David was fat and told by my doctor he had a 95% chance for a fatal heart attack. David's doctor told him to find a new doctor because he did not believe David could lose weight and he did not want him dying on his watch.

During the next four months David shed 50 pounds, 25% of his total body weight. He learned how to reduce weight without going on a diet, counting calories, or exercising. David understands your frustrations if you ever failed to lose weight on a diet because he tried every diet imaginable without success. And, if he did lose weight on a diet, he could not keep it off.

As a lawyer, David spent his career seeing both sides of the fence. Honest people and dishonest people. And when it comes to the food and weight loss industries, sadly there are more dishonest people than there are those telling the truth. That’s what makes losing weight so difficult. We see labels telling us it’s low fat but that same food is high in sugar. While it’s true that sugary foods are “fat free,” what the label fails to tell you is sugar causes fat to form inside your body later. Then there’s all these vegan friendly foods. Sounds healthy but they are filled with chemicals, dyes and artificial preservatives. Oreo Cookies are a vegan food! Just like he had to read the fine print when he practiced law, he is now reading and exposing the fine print on food labels and diet programs.

Now David feels great, has more energy, and improved his overall health. And, that's why he wrote Break the Chains of Dieting. So, your patients too can have more energy, feel better, and improve their overall health.

David has taken all the guess work out. This book gives you everything you need to know about healthy and maintainable weight loss. Your patiwnts will never need to go on another diet again.

The 9 Principles in this book will help you reduce your risk for heart attack, stroke, and type 2 diabetes. The best part is you don't need all 9. You just need the first 2 to improve your overall health. After all, who doesn’t want to have more energy, feel better, and improve their overall health.

Medansky has received an education on and advises people on matters of food and nutrition, considering how they both impact health. Nutritionists help clients choose the right things to eat, help them plan menus, and advise them on the health effects of certain foods. Nutritionists assess a client's current dietary habits and needs, educate them on healthy eating habits, follow up to ensure the menus are working, and write reports that document a client's progress.

  • What fruits should diabetics avoid?

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) recommends that any unprocessed fruit is fine for a person with diabetes to eat as long as they are not allergic to the specific fruit. Fresh or frozen fruits are fine to eat. You should avoid processed fruits such as apple sauce or canned fruit. Processed fruits also include dried fruits and all fruit juices. For instance, one orange is fine whereas a glass of orange juice is not. The reason being it takes 4 to 8 medium size oranges to make one glass of orange juice. You wouldn’t normally eat 4 to 8 oranges at one time, would you? Of course not. However, you’d consume that much sugar with one glass of orange juice. Apples, pears, and plums are excellent fruits for diabetics to eat. READ MORE

That is a very vague question. Avoid processed foods. Avoid deli foods. • Which diet is best for losing weight?

None. Diets tend to be trendy, temporary and hard to stick to. If you want to reduce weight and keep it off you need to change your eating habits and lifestyle. Here are a five tips: 1) drink only pure water (avoid soda, diet soda and all fruit juices or fruit beverages). Drink at least one-half of your body weight in ounces of water each day. 2) Eat slower. Put your fork or spoon down between bites. Be aware of the environment you're eating. Avoid eating while working, watching TV or driving. This causes mindless eating wherein you've consumed a lot of food without realizing it. 3) Reduce portion sizes. Use a salad plate instead of a dinner size plate. 4) Avoid processed foods, which include ALL deli meats. Read the Nutrition Fact Labels to see what you're actually consuming. You'd be surprised what food manufacturers are adding to food products. 5) Eat more whole/holistic foods, mostly fresh vegetables. Corn and green peas are NOT vegetables - they are grains. READ MORE
