Dr. Jayatilaka, otherwise known as Dr. Jay, along with his associates Dr. Armosilla and Dr. Devera, emphasize quality care while offering pediatric and general medicine to patients of all ages in Long Beach, California area. Following the completion of his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Colombo, Dr. Jayatilaka relocated to the United States to further his training. He completed his internship at Mount Vernon Hospital, his residency in pediatrics at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, and his fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the UCLA Medical Center.

Licensed to practice medicine in California, the doctor is affiliated with several medical centers in his local area, including MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center, Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital Long Beach, and St. Mary Medical Center – Long Beach.

In order to stay up to date in his field, he remains a member of the American College of Cardiology, whose mission is to transform cardiovascular care and improve heart health.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. As a pediatrician, Dr. Jayatilaka provides medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. He is trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.
