A native of northern New Jersey, Dr. Fahima is an excellent rheumatologist in practice with Rheumatology Associates of North Jersey & Osteoporosis Center. She has interests in psoriatic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, and interstitial lung disease associated with connective tissue disease.

Established in 1976, Rheumatology Associates of North Jersey & Osteoporosis Center is the largest and most respected rheumatology practice in Northern New Jersey, with offices in Teaneck and Union City. The board-certified specialists are experts in diagnosing and treating adult patients with rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, lupus, bursitis and tendinitis, fibromyalgia, scleroderma, and other painful musculoskeletal conditions. 

Having excelled in academics from an early age, Dr. Fahima graduated as the class valedictorian of both her elementary and high school before attending Rutgers University in New Brunswick on a full academic scholarship. She holds a Bachelor’s degree with honors in Cell Biology and Neuroscience, as well as a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Rutgers University Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. 

Thereafter, Dr. Fahima earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) School of Osteopathic Medicine before completing a rigorous residency in internal medicine at Monmouth Medical Center-RWJ Barnabas Health. Training under renowned specialists, she completed her fellowship in rheumatology at Northwell Health, formerly known as North Shore-LIJ Medical Center.

Having dedicated her life to academics and research, Dr. Fahima conducted a year-long research fellowship at Yale Medical School with Dr. Peter Novick working on understanding the mechanism of SNARE proteins in membrane fusion.

A Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology (FACR), she is board-certified in both rheumatology and internal medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). The AOBIM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults.

Licensed to practice medicine in New Jersey, Dr. Fahima is affiliated with Hackensack Meridian Health Hackensack University Medical Center, Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, and Holy Name Medical Center.
