Dr. Rex Z. Nilson has been practicing podiatric medicine and surgery in Seattle since 1984. A Board-certified physician since 1987, he joined Ankle & Foot of Edmonds in 2008. His distinguished career includes serving as Chief of Staff at Fifth Avenue Hospital in Seattle, and working for six years as a member of the Washington State Podiatric Medical Board, appointed by Governor Gary Locke. Today, he is the Chairman of the Waldo Medical Foundation, a position he has held for 20 years. He is also a 33-year board member and Treasurer of the International Foot & Ankle Foundation. Dr. Nilson graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland in 1983. He did his post-graduate training in Windom, Minnesota and in Seattle, Washington.
Dr. Nilson lives in the greater Seattle area with his wife Torri, who is a journalist and a teacher. Their family includes four wonderful children.

With a broad educational background, Dr. Nilson holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University, and graduated with his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland in 1983. He did his post-graduate training at the Windom Area Hospital, and in Seattle, Washington.
Distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the doctor is board-certified in podiatric surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, which was founded in 1975 as an independent, non-profit organization for the purpose of certifying podiatric surgeons found to be qualified after meeting credentialing requirements and completing the examination process.
