Ronald Reagan's Daughter Patti Davis Discusses Alzheimer's Disease
Patti Davis's Three G's of Alzheimer's: Grief, guilt and gratitude
Patti claims that those who have family members with Alzheimer’s avoid the grieving process. They fear death. She has dealt with people who are the sole caregivers and way too busy to deal with grief, and she knows all too well that grief will wait for them and will catch up to them in the end.
Grief, gratitude, and guilt are the three G’s of Alzheimer’s. You need to be grateful to have time to say goodbye to your loved one. It’s okay to feel guilty when you bring others into your home or put your loved one in a facility. You aren’t abandoning them but giving them safe care.
