Making the Case for Lifestyle Medicine
A Summary of Success with Lifestyle Medicine on a Cohort of 45 Patients with Chronically Uncontrolled Type 2 Diabetes Patients with chronically uncontrolled diabetes who are...
Losing a lot of unexplained weight
Did you have history of pancreatitis or pancreatic surgery?
Do you or did you drink alcohol excessively?
Is there any close family member with type 1 diabetes? Or lean type 2 diabetes?
Do you have autoimmune disease such as thyroid problems, rheumatoid arthritis, adrenal dysfunction ? Etc.
I want to make sure you have accurately classified diabetes because quite a great proportion of patients given a diagnosis of type 2 actually have late onset autoimmune diabetes of adults ( LADA) and these patients need exclusive insulin treatment to manage their diabetes. Quite often even for type 2 with acute hyperglycemic burden , we use insulin briefly . We can slowly transition to non -insulin options if it is confirmed that it is type 2.
So, please give me those data and I will get back to you.
