One reason you may have seen mixed reviews is because certain people with more advanced arthritis in their knees, even with large swollen knee joints, may have limited benefit. Like all things, the response often depends on the severity. Also, if you are in a state where acupuncturists can do a method called point injection therapy, know that this may be even more effective than acupuncture for joint pain.
