However, if you are not brushing and flossing properly and have a lot of tarter built up, then your dentist need to do scaling to get the gums into a healthy state. You can maintain that healthy state and never need another deep scaling OR, if you don’t brush properly, need scaling once a month at least. It all depends on how well you maintain your mouth.
