My hands swell when I exercise
That’s unusual. It could be a heart or vascular problem. Consult with your medical doctor.
After a fracture my finger seems tilted. Why?
There are 2 possible reasons. Either it is swollen and appears crooked. Or the bone has actually healed with some angulation. Consult with your hand surgeon.
What could be the reason for my frozen shoulder?
Frozen shoulder often times is idiopathic — which means it has no identifiable cause. If that is the case, the cause is bad luck!
If I sprain my hand, should I put a hot compress or a cold compress?
After injuries I recommend ice for the first 48 hours, and then heat after that.
Can anxiety cause pain in the shoulders and arms?

Recovery expectations for knuckle joint replacement
Recovery for this type of surgery takes 3-6 months. With still more improvements up to one year. Patience and reassurance can be helpful early on!

Irritating scar tissue, what can I do?
Scar tissue is normal...and yes it is annoying. However it goes away on its own. It peaks at approximately 6 weeks after surgery. It should be mostly gone at 6 months after surgery.

Massage and moisture helps. Use hand lotion and massage the scar with your other hand. I also like Aquaphor or other petroleum based moisturizers.
