Dr. Gregory Panzo is a board-certified ophthalmologist who treats patients at Mid Florida Eye Center, with locations throughout Central Florida. He specializes in all facets of his field, with expertise in cataracts, glaucoma, and all types of implants. A past Chief of Surgical Staff of Leesburg Ambulatory Surgical Center, Dr. Panzo was the first physician in Central Florida to safely reduce inner eye pressure in patients with certain types of glaucoma by using selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT). He was also selected to introduce to the region several of the most sensitive methods of glaucoma detection available, including HVF and HRT.
Dr. Gregory Panzo earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. From there, he went on to complete his medical internship at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio, with a subsequent ophthalmology residency at the same educational venue, serving as Chief Resident. Furthering his education and training, Dr. Panzo then completed a fellowship in glaucoma and anterior segment surgery at the University of Iowa. In order to remain up to date in his field, Dr. Panzo maintains professional memberships with a number of medical organizations, including the American Glaucoma Society and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
