My 12-year-old standard poodle was at the point in his life where all he could do was eat and poop. It was his time to go to doggie heaven! We had the vet come to our home. My wife was sitting on the floor in the library Indian style. The dog had his head on her lap. The vet gave the dog the first injection which had the dog sleeping and snoring peacefully in less than a minute. The vet then shaved off some fur and proceeded to give the old dog a second injection which stopped his breathing in another minute. Then just as the dog stopped breathing the puppy (2 years old) came running into the library as fast as her legs would carry her just to kiss his lips before they became cold!
