That depends on your health status. But typically, general anesthesia in healthy 26-year-old male does not require any special preparation with exclusion of fasting requirements (NPO or nothing per mouth) and stopping/continuation of medication/supplements/herbal medications taken by patient.
If you are healthy individual and surgery does not require pre-operative assessment a few days before surgery, then expect to receive a call from hospital nurse 24-48 hours before with all instructions regarding fasting requirements and medications. If you need pre-operative assessment, then during that visit the patient receives all necessary instructions. If any questions arise, please do not hesitate and call your surgeon's team and ask questions.
