Thank you for your question.
Nothing is stronger as natural healthy tooth. When a tooth starts to get decay, it weakens the integrity of the tooth. In order to prevent total tooth damage from decaying that can lead to other serious conditions.
Basically your doctor will stop the decaying process by cleaning the decay out completely and filling a tooth with a strong restoration.

However the teeth that are placed on top of those four dental implants are more likely removable.

Hi There,

Implants are standard of care in this day and age.
There is no guarantee in life on anything....Implant success rate is very high these days....Yes your body can reject implants... but it is very rare....if you are healthy, do not smoke, have not been on any long term bisphosphonates therapy, ( medications for osteoporosis like fasomax, boniva etc ), uncontrolled diabetics or immuno suppressive meds and other meds and conditions that can cause bone and tissues remodeling and healing.

Implants are very successful and predictable way to replaced broken, badly decay and missing teeth...

Hi there,

Yes, absolutely....any restoration that is too high can cause pain. Usually if its due to the crown hitting pre maturely.....it will start hurting after about a week on biting mostly, then cold then hot.
Reason for that is when you chew the first thing that hits its that tooth with a crown, that tooth becomes bruised from all the forces hitting it first rather than all the teeth taking the load.
Usually its a quick fix.
Call your dentist, most likely it will take few minutes to adjust the bite and tooth will heal in no time:)

Hi,

There is no short answer to your question....
After removing a tooth you will experience some discomfort, some bleeding, may be some swelling or even bruising. These side effects are normal and very common. On rare occasions, you may experience some feeling of numbness. That depends how close the root is to a nerve or vital structures. Severe infection and proximity to vital structures can cause some temporary numbness in the area. Please keep in mind that this procedure is very common and most of the time there is a minimal damage. These are just a few side effects that can occur after removal of a tooth. The amount of discomfort and side effects varies depends on the extent of damage from your tooth and your general health. Every doctor is very well trained in this area and you should be absolutely fine.

Good luck,

Dr. Zoltek
