Yes, a psychiatrist may be able to help with PTSD if they have training in it. One possibility is to contact MAPS (Multiputpose Association for Psychedelic Studies) and see if you qualify for one of their research studies. The best medicine for PTSD is MDMA but it is not yet legal., and should only be taken with people trained in its use. The other medication that sometimes whips is Ketamine.

If you think she may be depressed, it would be useful to have her see a psychiatrist trained to see adolescent patients for an evaluation. Depression can very harmful to teenagers (and anyone else) as they often have difficulty concentrating, and have difficulty being fully involved in their lives. It is difficult to determine without knowing more about your son. Sometimes children or young adolescents outgrow their friends; sometimes it could be a phase, sometimes it could be something else. Sometimes it could be drug related. I would ask your son how come he always wants to be alone? I would also ask about drugs and see how he responds. I would also want to know how he is doing in school. Often when there are emotional problems, the first clue is school work deteriorates.
