Dr. Ayyaz M. Shah is Dermatologist, Obesity Medicine Specialist, and laser surgeon. His practice philosophy revolves around restoring health and wellness. The skin may be viewed as a "mirror image" of our inner state of health. Alternatively, the skin can be viewed as a window to the state of inner health and wellness. If the skin looks healthy, the inner body is also functioning at its optimum level. A healthy diet and optimum nutrition is of paramount importance for optimum functioning of enzymes and hormones as this will affect the genes and our DNA.

Dr. Ayyaz Shah has learned from his research and studies that many skin conditions and accelerated aging are under the influence of hormones. A deficiency or excess of certain hormones wreaks havock on the organs of the body such as the heart, liver and skin! Conditions like acne have been shown to worsen with high glycemic index foods which then subsequently causes an insulin spike which causes increased signaling to release androgens like testosterone.

At Dr. Ayyaz Shah's clinic, patients are evaluated for their conditions. After obtaining a thorough history, physical examination and/or laboratory (and sometimes a skin biopsy) testing, a specific diagnosis is rendered and treatment is attempted to fix the underlying root cause as opposed to treating the symptoms.
