Great question- it really depends on the existing condition of the molar that needs to be extracted. Some of the factors that would affect the healing would be... is the root solid? Does it have existing periodontal disease? How much bone is existing? Is the tooth ankylosed (fused to bone without ligaments). Does it have existing root canal? Normal soft tissue healing takes about 7-14 days. Bone healing/filling takes about 3-4 + months depending on your overall health. Hope that helps! Dr Ivan Ho.

Hello, to answer your question, how long does dental implant pain lasts, depends on many factors. Like any surgery, the cascading effect of pain generally may lasts for 7-10 days. The peak of pain and inflammation is usually the 3rd to 4th day. After that, the pain should start subsiding and generally takes several more days for pain to be completely gone. Again, this varies from person to person. Allow area to rest and let nature take its course in healing. Hope that helps. Dr Ivan Ho

Hello,

To answer your question, “Does getting a bridge hurt?” generally speaking, during any dental procedure, nothing should hurt because of local anesthesia. When the anesthesia wears off, the teeth and gums in that area may experience some discomfort and may hurt with certain stimulus. Such as extreme cold or hot temperature or pressure such as chewing. All should be temporary and subside after the healing period.
Hope that helps.

Thank you,

Dr. Ivan Ho
