I have a question from a Peruvian Dentist about a problem after a bone graft and dental implant. And, if there were a correlation with the bacteria they found, should another doctor take it all out?
This is a very interesting case. Not only for the Dentist, but also for the MD. How should they focus and treat a problem like this?
I believe that this case will not only help the DDS, it can also help the MD to avoid making mistakes.
I have known this DDS for more than 20 years, and I know his work very well. The patient is trying to create problem, saying that he did a bad job with the implant.
So I will take the time to explain this. You shouldn't accuse somebody because you think that it's the best way to get your money back, and put some pressure on the DDS or MD like it is easy.
The first thing a medical professional would have to do before telling them that they did something wrong, is to ask for your medical crisis and epicrisis. Check the dates and descriptions, etc.
In this case, when we look at the medical records, x-rays, and any other information, we need to put the bone in properly to be able to do the implant.
No DDS will do that before having checked any other possibility. This will not work and can cause more problems than what we would think.
I got the e-mail from this DDS, asking me my opinion. He gave me a short history of the case and sent me a letter from the husband, with the email, explaining how to fix this (negligent problem).
