you, but for everyone. Everytime you would take the antibiotic you are increasing that chance for yourself and everyone else. That being said if you are genuinely sick and you have signs of a bacterial infection then you should not deny yourself an antibiotic, just make sure
you take them on time and finish the whole course. It is the prescribing doctor's job to ensure proper prescribing of the suitable antibiotic for every infection to avoid emerging resistant strains of bacteria, what we call super bugs.
