Each with those things being said, anesthesia-- from a purely statistical perspective, is a much safer experience than turning the keys in the ignition of your car and driving.

Where in the liver will the be from? Superficially? Close to the portal triad (deep)? Left side, right side, back? How skilled is the person taking the Biopsy? Ask. How 'tough' is the patient being biopsies? Necessary preprocedure inquiries.

If you are having a spinal as the primary anesthetic for a procedure (knee, foot, groin hernia, C-section, etc), your back shouldn't hurt at all. The skin where the spinal is/was administered will be similar to after a 'blood draw', a little local reaction to the skin being punctured. Depending on your age, hydration status,etc., a spinal has some other potential effects, but back pain, in and of itself is not one of them. I personally have had a spinal anesthetic for knee surgery. Back pain, if experienced, is not due to the spinal anesthetic.
