Sharp, shooting pain in my right leg

yes it can be. please follow up with your PCP or may be a pain management specialist to diagnose it completely

Long term narcotic use

plenty of liquids, high fiber diet, if natural remedy doesnot work then prescribed medications can be tried

I am very intolerant of narcotics

That would be hard, sometimes continuous nerve catheter may be helpful, but non-narcotic medications like NSAIDs can be tried also.
