It is out patient surgery usually.

Four to six weeks for full recovery.

Most likely it will just get larger. They do not heal on their own. Worst case scenario, it becomes incarcerated and causes a bowel obstruction requiring emergency surgery.

Minimally invasive hurts less but all hernia repair is painful.

Depends on the size and the location of the hernia. I prefer a minimally invasive robotic approach.

Dissection around these nodes can sometimes cause chronic upper abdominal pain that a block may relieve. It’s hard to say with any certainty but it’s worth looking into.
