A number of things suggest that the crown may not be fitted properly:

-The angulation or positional appearance of the crown
-A gap between the crown and the adjacent teeth
-An obvious gap between the bottom of the crown and the tooth it is sitting on. This can sometimes be seen visually, sometimes an instrument can be fitted between the crown on the tooth, and sometimes on X-ray there is a distinct a gap between the crown on the tooth that is sitting on.
-If the bite is high when you bite down

Sometimes pain might start within a few days after a root canal treatment, but this is not the norm. There is normally some tenderness immediately after the root canal treatment, which subsides over the following days. Wait a few more days if the pain is something you can handle. It may subside. If it continues or gets worse, go and see your dentist.

Salt as an abrasive will remove surface stains on your teeth. Long-term use will result in excessive wear of your enamel. It is better for you to allow a dental professional to evaluate and remove your stains. If you find that your teeth are still yellow after a cleaning, consider professionally whitening or bleaching your teeth.

This discomfort could be because you have decay in the areas you are flossing, or it could be that your gums are inflamed due to plaque/tartar accumulation, and that you are hurting the gums when you floss. Start off with an examination and cleaning by a dental professional, and floss regularly to keep the plaque away. If a cavity is found, the decay will be removed and the cavity filled.

Go and see your dentist. Your son may simply need a professional cleaning. After a while of plaque accumulation, the plaque mineralises, and forms tartar/calculus. This happens in most patients, even if you floss and brush regularly. The bleeding gums might even be a sign of an underlying disorder, or a side effect of medication.There is no home treatment for this, only a dental professional can remove the tartar/calculus.
