If a sinus has pneumatized, a sinus lift can often be performed at the time of implant placement. If a tooth has been missing for a long time, and there is significant bone loss, this often necessitates more complex bone grafting called Ridge Augmentation.

The implant is placed between the roots of the teeth and the abutment lines up with the root. However, if you have an infected or “hot tooth” that has been hurting for a long time, it may be more difficult to numb the tooth. Depending on a patients medical history, this may warrant office sedation for patient comfort without any pain.
