Yes, it is normal to have little bit of pain for a few days post-RCT, as long as the pain keeps going down from the day of treatment.

I would not call it normal timing, but it would not be alarming to me either. I would not do anything and would wait for another 6 months. He might be delayed in his eruption cycle, which might be normal for him.
