Steve Yusupov, DDS, MD, FACS, is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Head & Neck Society. Dr. Yusupov, raised in Queens, NY, completed undergraduate studies with honors at CUNY Queens College. He holds a dual degree in Dentistry (DDS) and Medicine (MD), which he obtained from NYU College of Dentistry and SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. Dr. Yusupov completed his surgical training at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, NY, where he was exposed to a wide array of dentoalveolar surgery, trauma, and benign pathology. After completion, Dr. Yusupov continued his training within the department of otolaryngology at Lenox Hill Hospital. There he had the privilege to train in Head & Neck Surgical Oncology under some of the world leaders in the field. While in fellowship, Dr. Yusupov had invaluable experience in maxillofacial reconstruction and orthognathic surgery. After completion of training, Dr. Yusupov entered a cutting-edge extended-scope private practice in Staten Island, NY, working alongside world experts in TMJ surgery and cleft and craniofacial surgery. While on Staten Island, Dr. Yusupov worked closely with dental and medical communities, establishing the cancer center, where he treated dozens of patients with oral and other head and neck cancers. Their team performed state-of-the-art reconstruction, not only treating the oncologic disease but giving patients their smiles back via the Jaw in a Day reconstructive procedure that involves placing implants in an auto-transplanted bone from a distant body part, many times loading the implants immediately. Dr. Yusupov has been appointed a Director of Maxillofacial Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery at Staten Island University Hospital, Northwell Health.

How long does it take to pull a front tooth?
These are usually done with IV sedation and in conjunction with a bone graft in Gold Coast Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. The entire process usually takes about an hour.
How long after teeth removal can I get dentures?
We recommend having immediate dentures made. So the answer is same day.
How long do mini implants last?
Mini implants don't have adequate long term prognosis. Therefore we do not recommend them as a long term option.
How long should a dental bone graft hurt?
Bone grafts dont add much discomfort to the recovery when done in addition to a tooth extraction.
Can you sleep with dentures?
Absolutely not. You will develop gum inflammation and possible yeast infection.
