If you are passing gas, then bowel movements should eventually come. Sometimes eating ice chips, hard candy (peppermint, etc.) and chewing gum can help stimulate things to move forward.

Are you taking a lot of pain meds? This can also slow down your ability to have bowel movements. Lastly, if you are not passing gas greater than 24 hours you should speak to your surgeon or be evaluated in the ED. Feel better soon.
