Corporate & business leaders are well aware that back injuries are the most prevalent occupational injury in the United States. How these injuries are ultimately addressed has much to do with each individual’s initial point of contact. A study published in the international, peer-reviewed journal Spine found reduced odds of surgery were observed for those whose first provider was a chiropractor. About 42.7% of workers who first saw a surgeon for a back injury, eventually had surgery; in contrast to only 1.5% of those whose initial treating physician was a chiropractor.
Another recent study found: (1) chiropractic care provides better outcomes at lower cost, (2) chiropractic treatment & care leads to a reduction in costs of spinal surgery & (3) chiropractic care leads to cost savings from reduced use & abuse of opioid prescription drugs.
The goal of chiropractic treatment is to “fix” the problem at the source. This is accomplished by the restoration of maximal, pain-free movement of the musculoskeletal system & postural balance. Utilizing specific chiropractic adjustments & state of the art physiotherapy; patients are typically better than they were before the injury! They tend to have fewer problems in the future. Research continues to support the benefits of chiropractic treatment.
