Fibroadenomas can also sometimes recur although not generally in the same area. If you just recently had surgery, then you may be feeling some scar tissue that forms in the cavity. However, you should see your surgeon if there is any question of a new mass.

In general, early breast cancers are treated with some type of surgery, +/- chemotherapy, +/- radiation, and +/- endocrine therapy (if the tumor is hormone positive). She should meet with a surgeon to review the surgical part of her treatment.
