Spurs are bony outgrowths that usually present as some type of stress or repetitive activity. Since it is a bone, it maybe difficult to say get rid of it. You can do therapy on the leg and foot and find a facility that does shock wave therapy. All these treatments will hopefully help by taking tension off the tissues and reduce the pain the spur is causing.

If they feel it's something that needs to be looked at more further, they will advise and recommend you to see a specialist to get further evaluated and/or get diagnostic testing done.

Good afternoon. First before any time frame is set, you would need to get an MRI validate that it is a torn ACL. Also, is it only an ACL, or does it have a meniscus tear, etc. Does he need surgery? These are the factors to take into consideration. If he does need surgery, and goes thru a proper rehab protocol 6-12 months, to get back depending on the progress. I do not know where you live but if you need an orthopedic referal and or PT please let us know.
