r. Kirk Waibel is Board Certified in Allergy & Immunology and joins the Aspire Allergy & Sinus team after serving 22 years in the United States Army, most recently as the Chief of the Allergy Service at Brooke Army Medical Center and the Allergy Consultant to the Army Surgeon General. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Trinity University and went on to receive his Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Waibel completed his Pediatric residency with the Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA and completed his Allergy fellowship at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. 
 
Having  published over 40 peer reviewed articles over the years, Dr. Waibel continues to push the boundaries of the allergy specialty with the goal of advancing patient care. He is very excited for the future advances in allergy treatment as new options are developed and become available. Dr. Waibel also is the only allergist who is trained and administering the ExACT Immunoplasty℠ procedure, and one of the few offering OIT in San Antonio.

Allergies will likely be bothersome over time with a runny nose, congestion and sometimes a scratchy throat but will never cause a fever or the sensation of feeling flushed or hot from allergies. You will want to monitor your condition and see your primary care doctor for these symptoms.
