Dr. Irlna Tantchou

Irlna Ingrid Tantchou, MD, FACS, FASCRS, currently practices at Highlands Oncology Group in Northwest AR since 2020. Dr. Tantchou is a Colon & Rectal Surgeon with 6 years of experience. She obtained her medical degree from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, followed by a Residency at NYMC-Westchester Medical Center and a Fellowship in MIS with a focus on colorectal surgery at UT Houston in Texas. Dr. Tantchou completed an additional Colon & Rectal Fellowship at St Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA. Her main focus and area of expertise is minimally invasive surgery, more specifically robotic surgery (obtained Master Surgeon in Robotic Surgery certification). One of her professional goals is to change the statistics of women of color in the field of surgery. She has a passion for increasing awareness of the benefits of preventative medicine (like getting colonoscopies) in the minority communities of Northwest Arkansas. Other areas of interest for Dr. Tantchou include colorectal cancer care and pelvic floor management in women.
