In this article, we will try to answer the question, “Can Nose Be Corrected with Exercise?”. This is one of the most asked questions asked in rhinoplasty. We hope it will be useful, we wish you pleasant reading.
You must have seen articles about nose correction and/or nose reduction with exercise while searching on the internet. This may have given you hope as a non-surgical method. However, nose correction and/or nose reduction with exercise is not realistic. Except for newborn babies. There is a possibility that tiny exercises done on baby noses can contribute to the developing nose structure.
Complaints in adults such as nose reshaping, nose lift, nose narrowing, nose straightening, nose reduction, nose shortening cannot be corrected with exercises at home. Another question that comes with nose exercise is about nose accessories: “Can the nose be reshaped with the nose accessories?”. For the answer to this question, we can give the answer above. Unfortunately, it is not possible to achieve the nose shape you want in this way.
You may not like the shape of your nose and have nose deformities.
Hump Nose
It is a type of nose with a bone structure that causes a hump on the bridge of the nose. The hump nose type is the nose to which our genetics is most prone. When you look at the images of our people in the past, the hump nose structure immediately catches the eye.
Long Nose
It is the type of nose where the nose is larger and longer than the face. It is one of the nose types in which genetic factors are the cause.
High Projected Nose
When viewed from the side, the distance of the nose to the face is more than the required ratio. On the contrary, the nose type is a low-projected nose.
Deviated Nose
It is the type of nose that should be in the midline of the face and has deformation to the right or left or in the form of an S.
Short Nose
Nasal muscle is a type of nose that occurs when the cartilage tissue cannot develop sufficiently. It has a short and blunt structure compared to the face.
Saddle Nose
Saddle nose deformation is a type of nose that usually occurs as a result of excessive bone removal during trauma, impact or nasal surgery.
Wide Nose
If the bones on the sides of the nose are too open, it causes the nose to appear wide. At the same time, the fact that the nose wings are very open also symbolizes wide nasal deformation. Especially when laughing, the nose wings expand by spreading more.
Narrow Nose
The opposite of the wide nose deformation is the nose type. The angle of the bones forming the side walls of the nose is less and they are closer to each other. Generally, it may seem like it was tightened with a latch after a previously unsuccessful rhinoplasty.
If there are these and similar nasal deformations, it is necessary to intervene surgically. Surgical intervention is definitive and permanent. Large noses cannot be reduced with exercise or accessories. Crooked noses cannot be corrected. Wide noses cannot be narrowed. If it can be corrected with exercise or something else, why would there be such a technical, surgical interventions?
Nose reshaping cannot be done with exercise, but there is another area where exercise is beneficial. The area that almost all the doctors who perform nose surgery use and recommend are massage exercises after nose surgery. The benefits of these massages after nose surgery are enormous.
Massage Exercises After Nose Surgery
The purpose of the massages given after nose surgery is to activate the blood circulation and facial lymphatics. It is useful for faster removal of edema after nose surgery. Massage movements can be given differently by each doctor. The reason is the content of the surgery performed. There may also be surgeries in which massage is not recommended. After the surgical intervention, the patient should be under the control of the plastic surgeon and the given instructions should be strictly applied.
