Nutrition plays a huge role in our everyday lives. Nutrition also plays a huge role in fertility as well. Sadly quite a lot of the world eats a SAD, or Standard American Diet. This diet is includes lots of processed foods, packaged foods and sugary drinks. Processed Foods are devoid of nutrients. My favorite "diet" is the Mediterranean Diet. I think the food options are great for those on the go, and it doesn't require a lot of planning or prepping. The Med Diet relies on fruits, veggies, whole grains, beans, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices. The Med Diet allows for meat, but not as often. It also highly suggests organic, grass fed meat as well.
Putting fruits, veggies, beans, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices at the forefront of the diet will help improve nutrient deficiencies that are so often seen with fertility issues. A deficiency in B Vitamin has been shown to cause a myriad of different issues, ranging from DNA issues to trouble with progesterone production. Vitamin B3 helps with fetal development, B3 is found in sweet potatoes, strawberries, and cashews to name a few.
Before starting the journey to creating a new life, I highly suggest looking at what your eating and make necessary adjustments if needed. If you struggle with fertility, please feel free to reach out to me for further help.
