Edith Piaf
Edith Piaf was a famous French songstress who developed RA in the 1930s. It, along with several other health problems, became so severe that she turned to a dependence on dangerous painkillers such as morphine.
Her most famous song in the United States was La Vie en Rose. In 2007, a biographical musical of the same name was made which covers everything from her life to her death, including her struggles with rheumatoid arthritis.
