Born in 1911 and being an actress into the 1970s, Lucille Ball was most famous as Lucy in I Love Lucy. She became a TV star partially because of rheumatoid arthritis; she was originally going to be a model for Hattie Carnegie, but came down with RA. She undertook some experimental treatments and recovered enough to become the star we all know.
