7 Daily Hacks to Help Those Living with Lupus

Saying "No" or "Not Now"

Along the same lines of making do with limitations is knowing when to tell others “no” or “not now.” A person can allow themselves to fall into the trap of guilt if he or she is not able to attend a gathering or commit to some other activity. This guilt does nothing more than sap away at valuable time and energy.

It is important to remember that most (if not all) people would understand if certain commitments can’t be met on account of a medical condition. Additionally, if one refrains from stressing out about saying “no” or about requesting a change of date or time, then that person can use the time more wisely for rest and taking care of one’s self.
