C. Diff Is a Major Problem for IBD: Is Charcoal the Answer?
This charcoal can protect against antibiotics' side effects
It's only available in a trial so far, but the results of a small clinical study seem promising. In the experiment, 28 voluntary participants were each given Moxifloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, to take for 5 days. Moxifloxacin is actually one of the antibiotics that can commonly be associated with a higher risk of getting C. diff. In half of the voluntary study participants, only Moxifloxacin was given alone. The other half received the antibiotics combined with the protective charcoal, DAV132.
