Games to Motivate Children With Cystic Fibrosis to Do Lung Exercises
Final thoughts
The electronic games discussed here are probably just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to games that will be developed to help children with chronic conditions. Technology has taken a very deep and valuable role in healthcare on multiple levels. From electronic documentation systems to dragon breathing CF games, technology is advancing medicine worldwide. With the low rate of compliance with chest physiotherapy for both adults and children, new games may be the way forward. Hopefully we will see positive results from the trial being done on the game in New Zealand. It would also be hugely beneficial to see long term effects of the games. As technology advances and more people become aware of the need for new physiotherapy interventions, more models are likely to come out. Even better would be if these kids could use the games to connect with other CF patients and they could compete while doing their physiotherapy. And why limit it to children only? We all know plenty of adults who love video games too.
