Helping at Home: 13 Tips for Caring for Someone with Dementia
Breaking down the daily routine
Break down their daily tasks into small manageable steps. For example, have a morning routine such as: getting out of bed, using the toilet, washing hands, brushing teeth or dentures, followed by making their bed and getting dressed for the day.
With each task you can break them down into smaller steps like, for instance, brushing their teeth. Praise your loved ones for doing a good job, be patient and help when it's needed.
